As a middle school teacher, I have many students either who have already been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or are in the process of becoming diagnosed. This disorder is one of the most common disorders relating to mental health that children experience (Ramos, M. C., 2022). Children with ADHD may experience several traits that impact their learning including hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity, while also lacking executive functioning skills (Ramos, M. C., 2022). Executive functioning skills are critical for a classroom environment. They help with organization, planning, and monitoring their work, which help students complete more complex tasks (Lincă, F. I., 2018).
I see many students struggle with organizational skills and planning. One tool that can benefit these students is the website called Goblin Tools. There are several different options on this website, but the “Magic To Do” page is the focus. This to-do list takes the tasks that are typed in and uses AI to break them down into smaller chunks. This can help students plan out the work that they need to complete as well as monitor where they are in the process. If students are struggling to add tasks to the list, they can go to the “Compiler” page, where they can type one paragraph of everything they can think of, and it will sort itself into a list.
Goblin Tools was created to help people when they become overwhelmed with tasks. People with ADHD often struggle with keeping track of their objectives. This tool can help students with ADHD break down their tasks into small chunks, which will help keep them on track and organized.
