Copyright, fair use, attribution, and licensing can all be very confusing topics when first introduced to it. It’s very important to follow the law and to give credit to those who deserve it, so it is critical to be educated on this topic. As a teacher, I am always looking for new resources and media to use in my classroom to elevate my lesson, but I need to be aware of attribution - giving credit to the original creator(s) of the content I’m using. Everyone deserves to receive credit for their work, even if they don’t request it. It is respectful to do so and it is their right. Below is a video that I have created that describes attributions and goes through the process of how to write one. In addition to this, I have used content from other creators and transformed it into a new resource, showcasing how to properly use attributions in your own work. This process of remixing materials is something that I do often. Taking inspiration from others and developing it into something new has been a great way to create new lessons for my classroom and also add my own spin to the content. By transforming those resources, I can tailor my lessons towards my students’ particular needs and make my units more cohesive.

I enjoyed your video! I thought it was clear and concise and can teach a novice user about the importance of giving credit. Side note: I liked that the video had a calming feel to it.
You did such a lovely job teaching about attribution and giving credit where credit is due!
